EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Early Childhood Education Program: Offers children ages 4-6 basic fundamentals in language, math and reading that foster higher levels of achievement in primary school. Children attend pre-school classes from 7:30 am -12:30am fives days per week. Our ECE programs are held in two locations which include, the Makilu village and Makokoi village of the Machakos District in Kenya. Both programs are operated by a team of licensed instructors from the local area.
All children receive free pre-school educaction through our program in addition to two warm meals daily. Community parents play a significant role in the planning process of the program. Their input and volunteerism is key to the success of our students academic progress.
Studies show children who receive early childhood education are better equipped to transition into primary school and Secondary Schools. The I CAN FLY Pre-schools have been commended by the leaders of local primary schools for having the high exam scores at the various primary schools in the area. The I CAN FLY pre-school staff prides itself on adopting a "children first" approach to teaching and parental involvement.
