Certificates and Memberships
SAFE. ECO. ORGANIC. MADE IN THE USA. When we develop and manufacture our line of CozyPure® latex mattresses and bedding, we hold a high criteria for organic fibers and eco-smart materials. But we also believe that just because something is "organic", it's no excuse for creating a product that does not offer quality or provides little comfort.
Our mission is to design and manufacture an organic natural latex mattress that exceeds your wildest dreams and is held to the highest standards... to incorporate environmentally-friendly fabrics, materials and manufacturing procedures - alongside superior quality and exquisite comfort. We are proud to display the following logo certificates, memberships and recommendations which are affiliated with the CozyPure® latex mattress and bedding collection. "We've been in the organic comfort business since its inception, so we know what works best and the standards involved to meet the criteria of calling something organic.", says Cheryl Hahn, President and Founder of CozyPure®. "The green movement is becoming increasingly popular and many businesses are jumping on the bandwagon, making products with very minimal organic content, yet they still call it an organic product. The consumer really has to be careful because of the huge amount of misleading information in the marketplace today, especially regarding latex mattresses."

Here at Organic Comfort Zone, manufacturers of CozyPure, we're both "green" and "organic". And we're proud of it.
For over 25 years we've been committed to eco-friendly organic green-living. Our authenticity runs deep and we'll be happy to discuss any of your questions or concerns. Give us a call Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm EST at 800.229.7571 to discuss latex mattresses and organic bedding.

The euroLATEX ECO-Standard for latex mattress foam cores has been developed by the European Latex Foam Manufacturers association in close co-operation with one of Europe's leading and most reputable scientific institutes, i.e. TFI (Deutsches Teppich-Forschungs Institut in Aachen, Germany). The ECO-Standard defines the maximum acceptable limits of substances considered harmful to health that could occur in latex mattress foam cores. This is based upon scientific data and stringent limits from other standards. The substances that are tested for include: Heavy Metals, Nitrosamines, Pesticides, Solvents, VOCs - Volatile Organic Components. CozyPure® dunlop natural organic latex mattress components have achieved the euroLatex ECO-Standard certification for our organic mattress collection.

The "LGA Tested" certificate confirms that a latex mattress product was tested according to selected criteria (performance characteristics, safety characteristics, statutory requirements and other individual requirements) and also meets the currently accepted technical standards. Manufacturers who wish to obtain the product certificate "LGA tested" must have their product(s) assessed within the scope of a type test, according to the above-mentioned criteria. Annual factory and product inspections must carried out to maintain the validity of the certificate. An LGA-tested certificate assures the consumer that both high-quality and safety standards have been acquired for their latex mattress product. CozyPure® dunlop natural latex components have been awarded the LGA-Tested certificate for our organic mattress collection.

The "Global Organic Latex Standard", GOLS in short, is the standard for sustainable processing methods of latex products from organic raw materials. This mainly addresses the standards which need to be maintained with relevance to processing, manufacturing, packing, labeling, trading and distribution of latex products. In addition to the use of organic raw material, this standard also concentrates on aspects such as human health, safety and welfare, and environment in the manufacturing process of latex products. The CozyPure® organic latex mattress collection is made using GOLS-certified organic latex.

The Oeko-Tex 100 Standard comprehensively addresses the Human Ecology component of textile products. It evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed textiles intended to come into contact with consumers. A manufacturer whose product meets the requirements set by the standard is licensed to use the registered mark or label "Tested for Harmful Substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100" on his latex mattress product. All of the CozyPure® natural latex components carry the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification for our organic mattresses.

OE 100 Standard. The OE standards are chain-of-custody standards that give third party verification to a final product containing a given amount of organically grown cotton. The OE 100 tracks the purchase, handling, and use of 100 percent certified organic cotton fiber in yarns, fabrics and finished goods through the use of transaction certificates. In addition to being GOTS certified, this standard also applies to the organic cotton knit fabrics we use in our bedding products.

Under the Organic Certification Program, TDA inspects and certifies organic farms as well as processors, distributors and retailers of organic food and fiber for use in many products including latex mattresses. To be certified, all must comply with organic growing and handling standards established by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP). In exchange for this compliance, participants may use a marketing logo identifying their latex mattress products as certified organic. The department also helps certified businesses market their products by promoting Texas-certified organic food and fiber. CozyPure® organic bedding accessories sources organic cotton certified through the Texas Dept of Agriculture.

Virginia Green is a state-run program under the Commonwealth of Virginia to recognize and encourage businesses to incorporate environmentally-friendly practices. Designed primarily for the tourist trade such as hotels and restaurants, it is also open to businesses that compliment and/or enhance the program's mission and goals. Meeting the criteria, the Organic Comfort Zone is a partner member with Virginia Green. In addition, we are setup to efficiently provide CozyPure® latex mattresses and bedding to "green lodging" facilities across the state, allowing tourists to fully enjoy a "green room" experience.

The Environmental Protection Agency - Department of Clean Energy - recognizes organizations helping to support the development of new renewable generation capacity nationwide while also helping protect the environment. Electricity generation can be one of the largest environmental impacts associated with an organization's operations. Green power is an effective way to reduce the environmental impacts of a company's electricity use. We are PROUD to be a "Net-Zero-Energy Building" and generate 100% on-site clean energy. Our renewable energy system not only supplies the power for the operations of our factory, warehouse, offices and retail store, but also generates excess electricity which we put back into the net-metering grid.
